No Place Like Home

August 16 - September 30
Reception August 16, 5 - 7 pm

Dear Friends and Customers:

We are pleased to present to you "No Place Like Home", a show of paintings by brilliant Bronx, NY artist Daniel Hauben. In one room we will feature his sensitive and colorful renderings of the people and streets of New York. These paintings vividly capture a special moment in the time and space of an ever evolving city. In the second room we will showcase his beautifully rendered pastel landscapes. Paintings range in size from 9" x 12" to 6 feet x 10 feet! We will also have signed and numbers prints for sale.

In the days prior to the show, Danny will paint the streets and people of Greenport en plein air, adding an air of suspense to what might appear in the gallery. Look for him near the corner of Front & Main!

We have attached a flyer for the show for your further information. Also, see this 2012 NYT story about a commission Danny executed for the Bronx Community College North Hall and Library that caught our attention and led to the show we are now announcing:

As always, we will offer complimentary fine wine and food along with great conversation. All are welcome, kids too. Danny and his wife Judy Lane will join us in greeting you.

See you on the 16th!

This exhibition is a celebration of the nature in our lives - even here in The Bronx. The amount of greenery and parkland we have in The Bronx contributes significantly to our survival as a borough and our ability to maintain a semblance of humanity in the face of so much adversity. "As an artist and as a human being, I need contact with nature - I believe everyone does.  I am excited  to share my thirty years of capturing it's beauty in paint with my community."

-Daniel Hauben
